CBD Products and Healthy Eating: Pure, Natural Health Solutions

Recent research confirms that the challenge of today’s illness-ridden world and public health system is to tap into the health-promoting properties that come from nature—pure and simple. For many health conditions, there is a more optimal way of eating and supporting health. First, let us realize that the real work resides in working on diet and exercise. At the same time, if we want to balance our system with an easy option, we may consider the benefits of CBD oil.

While our goal is to explore the health-promoting properties of nature in Cannabis products, we are not interested in highlighting one miracle product against all others. Instead, we wish to promote a way of living that supports your full, complete, holistic health. So, let’s simply commit to consider and start with nature!

What are some of your favorite plant products? Strawberries, green beans, almonds, mint, coconuts, or perhaps coffee? Without plants, humans would not thrive as they do—and life certainly wouldn’t be as delicious. Plants are precious natural resources that provide us with a daily way to treat all kinds of ailments. One of the best dictates of all time for healthy living comes comes from the “Father of Medicine,” Hippocrates (460 B.C.—370 B.C.), the ancient Greek physician whose words ring with urgency in today’s world of fake and over-processed food—indeed:

How do we make the mental change to fully support our overall health? If there is anything any of us can do to stay healthy, it is to follow Hippocrates’ advice and eat as many all-natural ingredients, various food groups, and organic produce as possible—and stay hydrated. These are the basics. They are simple stepping stones to letting what goes in our mouth be our medicine—and yet so many Americans get this wrong by dint of the fact that our convenience and grocery stories are full of anything but fresh food. We will not even get into the onslaught of fast food and chain restaurant food—most of which is not prepared fresh, not farmed locally, quite high in sodium or corn syrup, and not very quality in terms of nourishment. No wonder obesity is high. But have you ever wondered: Why waste energy eating badly when we could put potent health-promoting properties harvested from live plants in our body? And this is where hemp, CBD, and cannabinoids come in for a boost to our immune, neurological, and endocannabinoid systems.

Cannabis must be studied in-depth in order to unlock its potential
While research on the widespread therapeutic uses of Cannabis products has been limited for various reasons, today much attention is being given to non-THC Cannabis active components, which contribute to the power and entourage effects of medicinal-based Cannabis extract. According to a recent research review, “Cannabis Sativa: The Plant ofOne Thousand and One Molecules,” in Frontiers in Plant Science (2016), published with the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI): “More than 540 phytochemicals have been found in hemp (Gould, 2015), and their pharmacological properties seems to go beyond psychotic effects, with the capacity to address needs like the relief of chemotherapy-derived nausea and anorexia, and symptomatic mitigation of multiple sclerosis in a natural way.

With such high promises at stake, let’s consider our individualized and personal health for a moment. I’ll share some background on mine as you think of yours. After going through a major health diagnosis and life-saving surgeries a few years ago, I learned that doctors and the hospital system can be excellent, but learned from other patients’ experience, as well as my own, that there can also be bad apples and experiences. And because there are many GI tract issues that arise from too many antibiotics in our system or poor food choices, there is a rise in colon cancer in younger and younger individuals. Interesting times we are living in in terms of food supply and health.

CBD helps with IBS symptoms
So, when it comes to health, here is a call to action: Let us not passively wade through life living off junk food (e.g., food that lacks nutritional value), which is everywhere we look. One must make deliberate choices in order to nourish the body. The fact is that once you’re system goes awry and you're in the medical system, somehow you wind up with more and more things to return to it for. Almost like your body fell down some rabbit hole, and you’re the last to catch up to it. But much of your body's fate is on you: Preventative health! Your body’s care is in your hands—it’s in the food and substances you put in your mouth. You are the director of your health.

Being aware of research on healthy eating and supplement options is one of the most pro-active things we can do to avoid falling into the hands of a doctor or hospital system. You are your own doctor. So, educate yourself in terms of pure, natural health solutions! Research your own conditions and predispositions, as you also work with a healthcare provider and doctor you trust.

What does this have to do with CBD? Cannabinoids have been clinically proven to work wonders for patients with a range of health concerns. But don’t just take our word for it. Don’t just read forums. Find research articles like the one mentioned above that shares the following power punch of advice:

"Nature has already provided a large source of new molecules and new skeletons. A recent review reporting the new drugs available on the market during the last 30 years showed that more than 35% of these new drugs have a direct natural origin. This percentage rises to over 60% if we take into account all the drugs whose structure is inspired by a natural pharmacophore (Newman and Cragg, 2012). Cannabis presents a colossal potential for enlarging the library of bioactive metabolites. Compounds can be obtained from hemp trichomes, cell suspension cultures, hairy root systems, or via the biotransformation of THCA or CBDA using fungal, bacterial, or plant cells (Akhtar et al., 2015)."

Cannabis products, such as the CBD products that AAC Wellness offers in partnership with Holistic Health Marketplace, are plant products that are farmed, cultivated, tested for quality, and, time and again, clinically proven to help with chronic pain, nausea, insomnia, anxiety, mental focus, etc. There are no guarantees in lifeso let's be as proactive about caring for our body and giving it what it needs: Plant nutrients and phytochemicals from CBD are a great way to start. We hope you will give our oils, tinctures, and gummies a try and see if your mood, sleep, chronic pain, or perspective on your health improves with regular use. Let us know—we want to hear from you!
